THE JOHN LENNON SONGWRITING CONTEST


The John Lennon Songwriting Contest is an international songwriting contest that began in 1997. The contest is open to amateur and professional songwriters who submit entries in any one of 12 categories — with 72 Finalists, 24 Grand Prize Winners, 12 Lennon Award Winners and 1 Song of the Year winner with a prize package totaling over $300,000 in cash awards and prizes. The Executive Judges Panel includes artists, songwriters and musicians such as George Clinton, Jimmy Cliff, Jim Steinman, Bootsy Collins, Bob Weir, Fergie, 311, Matthew Koma and more.

All proceeds from the contest help support the non-profit John Lennon Educational Tour Bus mobile recording studio. For additional information about the John Lennon Songwriting Contest visit www.jlsc.com.

NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY


Offering students from around the world the unique opportunity to study visual storytelling through hands-on experience, the New York Film Academy has been shaping the next generation of filmmakers for over twenty years. Students learn through doing in our intensive curriculum, from creating their own original movies to new video games and musical theatre productions. Located in the historic Tammany Hall building in Union Square since 1994, the New York Film Academy has grown with its student body to open campuses in Battery Park, Los Angeles, and Abu Dhabi while offering workshops throughout the world. In addition, the Academy has continually expanded its curriculum to reflect the changing mediums of visual storytelling, from filmmaking and acting to photography, game design, broadcast journalism, animation, musical theatre, and much more.
